Welcome to this brief study of the model prayer of Jesus.  “Teach us to pray” was the request of his disciples – and this was the Lord’s response.  We have memorized it, recited it, set it to music and carved it on grains of rice.  But often we have failed to look deeply into this deep teaching of Jesus.  Spend some time in the Lord’s Prayer.  Perhaps you will discover new meaning there.

“This, then, is how you should pray:

 Our Father
in heaven, hallowed be your name.
Your kingdom come, your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us today our daily bread.
Forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors.
And lead in not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one.
 Matthew  6:9-13

For yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen
